Vi fu un tempo tra gli anni settanta e gli anni ottanta che l'Italia fu attraversata da un'irrefrenabile ventata di creatività e di dinamismo musicale senza eguali che chiameremo per comodità progressive, ma che in realtà fu molto più di un genere o di un'etichetta. In questa grande ondata Napoli fu uno dei centri più eretici dell'eresia, là dove la sperimentazione fuse jazz e prog, musica di strada e blues, creando veri e propri gioielli sonori che andranno ad imprimersi indelebilmente nel dna musicale della città. Attanasio con Nuovo Futuro parte da lì e va oltre, in un nuovo futuro appunto. Il percorso musicale di Raffaele, che ha un padre musicista e non vuol dire poco, parte dal jazz e dal progressive, passa per lo studio dle piano e poi il grande incontro con la musica elettronica e il djing, che lo porta persino a fare un back to back con Jeff Mills e lo spinge ad aprire un'etichetta musicale con la quale pubblica persino lavori di Douglas McCarthy dei fantastici Nitzer Ebb. Da questa apertura e cultura musicale che vanno ben oltre i 360°, Raffaele parte per un bellissimo viaggio musicale, una bellissima jam con i musicisti che lo accompagnano che sono di prim'ordine e che con lui al piano e tastiere ci portano in luoghi che credevamo dimenticati, in una dimensione dove la musica ha ancora un peso fisico notevole, tra jazz, fusion e colonne sonore dei film italiani anni settanta, e sono tutti in stato di grazia. Il risultato raggiunto è più che eccellente è una sinfonia per emozioni ed immagini, una lussuria per le nostre orecchie e per il nostro cervello, un qualcosa di davvero raro da ascoltare ai giorni nostri. Nuovo Futuro è una gemma preziosa da gustare con calma, da scoprire in ogni angolo, là dove ci siano giri di basso incredibili come in La Città Gioca D'Azzardo dove il basso di Mario Uryo Urciuoli ci riporta in locali fumosi abitati da genete con i pantaloni stretti e poca voglia di lavorare, e la successiva Equilibrio Dinamico, dove l'elettronica ammanta il tutto e ci fa scoprire nuove prospettive dell'immensa mente musicale di Raffaele Attanasio. Jazz solare, fusion magnifica e l'elettronica che ti scalda il cuore, per un disco che è un piacere che scoppia in tutto il corpo e in tutta la mente. Nuovo Futuro è un volo sopra una città mentale, guardando cosa ha in testa Raffaele, e ha tantissime cose e tutte suonano benissimo. Un disco che fra qualche anno chiameremo imprescindibile, da avere assolutamente.
